Music for the kids!
We believe that music should be available to everyone, everywhere. Whether you’re listening to it or the one playing, music resonates with each of us at a deep level. It’s fun, exciting, rejuvenating and therapeutic.
We chose to collaborate with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) not only because we felt that we could make a small contribution towards the wonderful things they already do, but also because their objective resonates with that of Evolve Brokers & The Evolve Foundation – helping people and serving humanity.
+ RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES.
Ronald McDonald House takes care of the practicalities of life so families can focus on their children, when faced with the daunting reality of receiving specialist medical treatment away from home.
Every year they offer 3,700 families across New Zealand free accommodation and support helping to reduce some of the financial, emotional and practical burdens they face during a highly stressful time.
We wanted to help the House support the many families who stay with them while their children are undergoing specialist treatment, by bringing musical instruments and lessons as great ‘distraction therapy’ for the children.

+ WHAT DID WE DO?
Some RMHC school kids were on hand to receive the instruments
It's all about having fun
We collaborated with Piano Traders to purchase some musical instruments which we gifted to RMHC, to help enhance the music programme in their on-site school.
The school is run by some wonderful humans… Marion, who is the school teacher and Judy, who is the music teacher, plus all the support staff at RMHC.
Getting stuck into opening up the boxes!
We bought 4 guitars, 10 ukuleles and a couple of glockenspiels! As well as some learning material and hardware to house the instruments. We’re also looking at buying more percussion instruments, like bongo drums, to give the kids more choice.
These instruments will also provide additional ‘distraction therapy’ for families outside of school hours, where families can request them for their own personal use while in the house.
We hope that the families and their children are able to enjoy the instruments while they’re in the comfortable surroundings that the Ronald McDonald House Charities provide.
+ WHAT ELSE ARE WE DOING?
We are also implementing a “learn to play the guitar” program within Ronald McDonald House Charities.
We have enlisted a couple of musicians who are volunteering to go into the house once a fortnight to teach anyone that wants to learn guitar!

Access to instruments outside of school
The instruments will also be available for use whenever the families feel like using them, outside of the teaching programs.
Some of the instruments are on display inside the games room
This is a wonderful opportunity for the families and their children to engage in another fun activity while they’re staying in the house.
We would love to see this program continue long into the future and so we’ve pledged our on-going support to RMHC to ensure music continues to be available to all the families that stay with them.
+ How you can help us achieve more!
The Evolve Foundation obtains donations via Evolve.
How Evolve is able to do this is through the decisions that people, like you, make when they see a specific need for insurance.
The more people who choose Evolve, the more donations we can raise and the more awesome things we are able to do in the community.
Right now, the average donation size per client is $365, and this is at no extra cost to Evolves clients.
Evolve gives away profits because we believe the wealth should be distributed accordingly.
